Eric Lefkofsky’s Tempus now worth over a billion

Tempus, the Chicago based health care data analytical company has recently being anointed the rare title of a unicorn startup. Now worth 1.1 billion with its latest investment of $80 million shared, co-founder Eric Lefkofsky. Since 2015, Tempus has gotten over 200 million in investments from different companies. New Enterprise Associates, Revolution Growth, Kingship Trust Co and T.Rowe Price Associates are the latest companies to invest in the company. Tempus is poised to benefit from the current state of health information technology, by extracting healthcare value from data collected from various devices. Leveraging the power of data analytical algorithms, Tempus creates a unique healthcare plan specific to needs of the individual patient. Tempus is attempting to change the fight against cancer though the utilization of both technology and data. Eric Lefkofsky, co-founder of Tempus feels the financial momentum they are benefiting from now is due to the excitement around the potential data has, in adding lifesaving value to cancer patients.

An alumni of the University of Michigan, Eric Lefkofsky is also co-founder of Uptake Technologies. Uptake is platform for data analytics and provides an environment where companies can use data to improve productivity, security and uptime, or the time a machines are in operation. Mr. Lefkofsky is also cofounder of MediaOcean, an advertising platform, Echo Global Logistics, a logistic outsourcing company, and InnerWorking, a company that provides printing and other office equipment solutions.

Mr. Lefkofsky is also a Trustee of The Art Institute of Chicago, the Museum of Science and Industry, Lurie Children’s Hospital and World Business of Chicago.

Eric and his wife, Liz together founded in 2006, the Lefkofsky Family Foundation. The Lefkofsky Family Foundation is a private charitable foundation, which adds value to the lives of the individuals by providing a quality education, expanding cultural initiatives, and ensure human rights of women and girls in underserved and neglected communities are not violated.
