Randal Nardone is well known as the co-founder of Fortress Investment Group LLC since 1998. In 2013 he became the Chief Executive Officer of the company and in 2006 was appointed to the board of directors. Randal Nardone went to the University of Connecticut where he graduated with a degree in English and Biology. He holds a doctor in Jurisprudence (J.D) from Boston University Law school.
Before he founded Fortress Investment group, Randal worked as a partner in the Legal department of Thacher Proffit and Wood a law firm. He developed an interest in financial service industry while still at the law firm and decided to quit and join BlackRock, a financial management firm. He worked for a while as the principal of the firm before he left for Union Bank of Switzerland (USB) to become their managing director. He worked for a year and had gained enough knowledge on the financial service industry leading to co-founding of the Fortress Investment group in 1998.

In December 2017, SoftBank group (SBG) completed its acquisition of Fortress Investment Group, one of the leading global investment firms in the world that manages credit funds, liquid hedge funds and alternative assets in equity. Fortress Common stocks were delisted from New York stock exchange and consolidated in the SoftBank group to reflect in the SBGS’ financial statement.
